Definitely can't say I rush into things...finally did my AAM1~Now page after deciding to incorporate
Lynn's IndoChine papers into all my AAM layouts. Love the beautiful vintage feel of the kit.

This is a companion page to my AAM2 page Baby Boomer

Journaling:
Many roads from which to choose...and like a box of chocolates, I get to sample them all...
and welcome the newness of the present with a nod to the past.
I’m a devoted NorCal girl…and pretend not to listen when my dear husband of 22 years
casually suggests retiring someday to Palm Springs or some other god-awful hot place.
But my husband is wonderful…loving, considerate, funny, ambitious and very sensitive
which I find extremely charming…although the switch from jeans to golf attire
has me somewhat worried about the inevitable retirement to a golf community.
{Note to self: wherever we end up, make sure we have a good wi-fi connection.}
But that’s not happening any time soon. Today I am filled with pride as my 21 year old son prepares
to transfer to my Alma Mater, SFSU, this fall…and I still get a kick when I see him ordering a beer!
I’m thankful that my two charming stepdaughters are both doing well in SoCal
with good lives and great husbands and I’m delighted to be a grandmother
to two very adorable granddaughters who have grown into real little people and call me Gamma.
And our two family dogs, a beagle and a maltese make quite the odd couple,
but are a ready source of hugs and kisses just when I need it most.
I’ve never regretted leaving a 15 year career in advertising design and production
to take on the role of wife and mother...which soon became my favorite job.
I’m very much a homebody and now help my husband with his business from my own home office
where it is very tempting to switch computer screens from business to Photoshop to Designer Digitals!
Love all things art related, am addicted to digital scrapbooking, never far from my laptop
and never ever removed from my iPhone, a relatively new toy for me
but already my secret best friend. Words with Friends anyone?
I’m really good at collecting stuff…or amassing junk, eat too many cookies, buy too many clothes
and dress my maltese in a Juicy Couture hoody while I wear cheap drugstore sunglasses.
Love mystery books...been reading Sue Grafton’s alphabet series since “A is for Alibi”
was published in 1983...She’s now working on “V”.
I’m watching American Idol as I’m writing this and wish I was a better multi-tasker.
Diagnosed with crohns in my early 20s, survived colon cancer 15 years ago
and diagnosed with lupus three years ago…I still believe I can beat it all…
for now I am doing good and that’s what I focus on. So many transitions and roads to explore
as I turn 59 in a few weeks, ready to enter a new decade and a new phase of self discovery,
gaining perspective from the wisdom of good old trial and error.
So much pleasure to look forward to as my adult children and grandchildren
embark on their own personal journeys.
