The Joy of Play
This layout was originally inspired by the previous Simply Inspired (no. 18) book cover poster. I loved how the inspiration piece used the books as graphic blocks. . . plus all that wonderful typography–very cool!
I spent part of the week last week with my niece and nephews. My sister-in-law had fun snapping some shots of me with the kids and it all made me think how simple and joyous playtime can be.
Journaling Reads (small type):
Mikayla was happy to see me—but not quite so happy to have to share me with her two brothers.
But rather than being upset or dissolving into tears, she instead found something we could all do together. Her idea: we’d all play dress-up! The boys joined in with plenty of enthusiasm and we all spent a happy half hour piling on every last piece of Mikayla’s jewelry (to great comic effect!)
Connor and Christopher had the best time playing with Mikayla’s jewelry. We tried on every last piece in the box!
Although we all looked like we’d just been bitten by the Mardi Gras bug, Aunt Terri looked the silliest by far!
