Journaling: More and more, I see my mother’s hands when I look at my own. Clean but usually unmanicured, or at least unpolished. A wedding band and fairly short nails. A few wrinkes, a little dry sometimes, a handful of age spots where there used to be none. This always catches me a bit by surprise . . . how did my mom’s hands end up on the end of my arm? And yet my mother’s hands seem never to get any older looking, while mine are quickly showing their years. It makes me wonder: Does mom see Gramma’s hands when she looks at her own?
