I started this page ages ago and never finished it. Then Deena posted this challenge and I had an "ah-ha" moment! Thanks Deena, for the inspiration - you saved this layout from the trash bin. : )

Photo is from our 2008 trip to Berlin.

Journaling Reads:

The Brandenberg Gate

This former city gate is located west of the city center on Unter den Linden, right around the corner from the Reichstag. Like the city itself, this famous landmark has seen it all: from Napoleon to the Prussian Empire, then Hitler, the Soviets and finally, a reunified and Democratic Germany. We walked along the boulevard leading to the gate many times during our visit to Berlin last Christmas. But this visit was the most poetic — early morning on Christmas Eve: the streets were deserted and all around us, only incredible stillness.
