In twenty years it won’t matter what font I chose or
embellishment I picked. It won’t matter if the
background paper matches the photo or even if the photo popped. It won’t matter that the exposure is perfect or the reds too saturated. It won’t matter that I cloned out an imperfection or left a spot of grass. In twenty years I won’t care that his shorts are too big or the photo just a bit crooked. In twenty years you two are all that really count. I will love your smile and your sweet stance. I will notice your little foot just slightly angled to the side getting ready for escape. I will notice the way your dad is smiling at you like he so often does. I’ll remember those shorts that are too big and how they always made me laugh as you hiked them up from behind. What will matter is that I can see without question the love between the two of you, the fun that you have, the joy of being together. The fun that we have as a family. That is really all that matters.
