I am a big fan of Jennifer's and her page was a great choice for the Saturday Scraplift. Smile

My family 4th of July celebrations growing up would be described differently depending on what year we're talking about. When I was a kid we were always at my grandparent's house & shot every kind of firework that we could buy at the firework stand. My aunts & uncles were always there to help light them & make sure no one lost a finger. When we got older we would eat watermelon & watch the fireworks from my parent's back yard. Once we started having our own families everyone met at a community sponsored fair complete with face painting, pony rides, food & fireworks conveniently held in the park next to the fire department. Since we never lived near my family I would always try to make our vacation plans around the 4th so that we could participate. A couple of times our travels let us watch fireworks from places like the Nat’l Monument in Washington DC & the Arch in St. Louis. In every instance there were always lots of “oos & aahs”.

(This is one of those times where I wish I had the old photos) Sad
