2009 Week 24 Another week down for my {not quite} 365 Project. Trying to get caught up!!!
Journaling reads:

12th: Black Bear: This is something that we don’t normally see….a black bear in the open. They usually like to be near trees or wooded areas. This guy was taking a major hike through our pasture at about 6 am this morning and I was lucky enough to have my camera handy.
15th: Homestead: When John’s Grandmother homesteaded here in 1910, there were NO trees or any kind. His parents planted this shelter belt in the 1950’s and we are reaping the benefits of their hard work. Sadly our pine trees have been attacked by the mountain pine beetle and the prognosis is not good. (photo facing to the SE)
15th Wildflowers: The pink Bitterroot, Lewisa redivia, is the Montana state flower and usually blooms in the middle of June. The Sego Lily, Calochortus nuttallii, is another hardy wildflower that can be found on our native prairie pastures
