After taking a bit of a break to work on some other projects, I've returned to my favorite photo series with this layout featuring a shot I took of an apple that had gone unpicked last autumn, which I discovered this spring still hanging on one of the trees in our yard. It's not your usual "pretty apple" picture, but I couldn't resist, being struck by the the wonderful ruffle-like texture the apple's skin had taken on as the flesh of the fruit shriveled away inside over the winter, and by the juxtaposition of the withered fruit and newly-emerged leaves.
