First AllStar Weekend

Description}: I had to miss it since I'm in Maine working on the boat. She will launch on Tuesday. But my daughter sent these tiny cell phone images and Katie's template challenge for this week made it so easy to save the day. ETA: I stand corrected. They did seem too good for cell phone pictures. She politely pointed out when she saw this page that they were actually shot with the Canon Rebel I gave her!! It was just the low res images she sent by cell phone. I thought the stop action in that ball he didn't hit was pretty good for a cell phone!! Just a little reminder to myself of how easy this CAN be!! Thanks for looking.

The Play is the Thing (left)

Description}: Yes it was a little intense for both of them but they both stayed with it and wanted to wait after the play to talk with the actors who came on stage for a hour of discussion about the play. They both wanted to come back and see more plays!! I had them spend the night before and we watched the movie so they knew what was happening. They gave a play by play (pardon the pun) assessment of how the play differed from the film!! But they BOTH got the point. People can be ugly. Kids can make a difference, Atticus rules and the PLAY is the thing!!! If you've never read the book, written in 1960 and considered to be one of the catalysts for the Civil Rights movement, you should. I re-read it a few weeks ago just to make sure I knew what I was doing and was amazed. Guess that's why they gave it the Pulitzer Prize that year. and yes�that IS popcorn behind her head on the floor and I am not taking it out. Thanks for looking. Katie Pertiet coming soon�. Love on St. Pat's Day

Description}: We married on St. Patrick's Day�.to make it simple to remember and also to celebrate that it was on St. Patrick's day in 1976!!! that he called to tell me I had been accepted into Graduate School with a full scholarship and that he would be my major professor. We did that and went our separate ways�.not seeing each other for twenty years. Then�.he called again in spring of '98, we got together in spring of '99 and married on St. Pat's in 2001. That is the short story�.as you might imagine!! The Irish toast was delivered by my Father on our wedding day to great applause. Our actual legal wedding was under the cherry blossoms at the Botanical Garden. The two of us and my girlfriend, the legal minister�.contracts, you know. Description}: Jet lag from the return was pretty bad but nothing compared to not having internet for a week. Here is the first of the trip's pages. It was a blast. The roo are not as docile as they look� we learned AFTER we got back from the day's hike! In the Namadji National Park the Kangaroo are completely clear whose territory it is. Luckily, as human ecologists and nature lovers, we stayed in the vehicle to take our photos. Later we found out they defend themselves by using those short little arms� the ones with the giant claws� to split whoever is threatening them from throat to tail� and they DO attack humans. Boy Chef Makes Good

Description}: A had each of the grand people over ALONE for a sleep over before Christmas. Gus decided he was sick of eating out and that he would cook dinner. Carrots in maple syrup, tilapia in herbs and rice. I just took photos with the iPhone and set up the big movie screen to watch the new Wimpy Kid movie. Then we set up the new keyboard. MY new keyboard....he got an iPod Tocuh from me on Christmas eve... The band aide on his thumb in the "eating" photo is from grating off the edge of his thumb while cleaning the carrots....I had done it just the night before...He is learning a lot about sharp things....
