Yen, you always pick a gem to highlight out of all the wonderful layouts in the gallery. Congrats, Nency! I'll be back later to check out your answers to Yen's "Get to Know You" quiz.

Default gosh

Oh my god, thank you for noticing my lay-out. It has been a very exciting week reading your comments .... You really know how to encourage someone (I feel like a kid again hunger for being appreciated when it has done something well)
And I must admit that this particular lay-out took me a long time to have it exactly where I wanted it. I'm kind of a perfectionist as it comes to particular matters (not housecleaning though).
I have never paper scrapped but I had always my camera around. My digital story began when I took lessons about the photoshop cs program in 2005. Unfortunately, this was a rather theoretical course so I started browsing on the internet and came across Anna Aspnes lay-outs. These were the things I wanted to accomplish : to eternalize those intense moments with my kids. At that time I loved Denise Docherty's style of blending.
Digital scrapbooking is not well known in Belgium as we rarely paper scrap either. I then got acquainted with Rhonna Farrer at Two Peas in a Bucket and bought her Designing with Digital Book and read her blog. I got inspired by the work of Veronica Ponce (Carver).
Then suddenly Christina caught my eye !!! I think she combines it all ! Her layouts showed me how to really use digital elements. Digital elements perfectly designed to be used again and in different ways. So I practically bought my first kits here at your site beginning august 2007 (besides the free kits I downloaded earlier).
KPertiet grunge overlay 3
KPertiet ledger frame
AAspnes Monoblez Origins
AAspnes Grasshopper kit
Meanwhile, there are so many lay-outs of you that I have put into my favourites. Sorry for not mentioning you all, because I would.
The thing about this site is that you are all so supporting in every way !
I'm a working mom so I really have to steal a bit of time to be able to scrap. I take pictures with my Nikon D50, make lo with PS cs2. I have made simple albums before :
single paged, 30cmx30cm
double paged, 20cmX20cm
printed out through the site of extrafilm.
Unfortunately, in Belgium, there is no printing service who delivers square print-outs (unbound), neither the (plastic) maps to put the lo's in. That's why I wrote a thread earlier about this topic (by the way, thank you for those who replied : maybe I will try out "scrapbooks to share" if shipping costs are reasonable). Are there any Belgian/Dutch designers here on the site who could help me out ?
When I scrap, I feel like an artist who is captured in his creation, I don't have time to drink or eat (unless my husband passes by to serve me which he always does), I could stay for hours before my computer ! My computer is positioned in the living room and as I scrap mostly in the evening (after having put the children to bed), I'm mostly not able to listen to my favorite music (husband is watching tv). I like duplicating layers, then changing the blending modes, masking a lot. I love the grungy feel. I like colors in general as long as the combination feels right. For me, scrapping is telling a story, describing a feeling. The only feeling I have not been able to put in an adequate lo is when skiing down the hill with my family !!
I have been reading and browsing a lot lately; it's time to get creative again !
Goodnight to all of you ...
Nency

Nency, you have told your digital scrapping story so well! Thank you for taking time to share your thoughts with us. I am so glad you found your way here to Designer Digitals. I, too, study Christina's LOs for ideas on how to use elements!
