Fantastic choice Yen, I couldn't think of anyone more deserving. This outline technique she has down pat. And her layout with journaling is superb.

I just logged on after day long outing with my daughter and her two little ones and found this great
surprise from Yen!!!!! THANKS so much and thanks too to each of you who have left comments on this page of mine (and all my other pages too) ... it surely does mean alot to me!!!How long have you been digital scrapbooking? I have been doing digital layouts for about 2 and 1/2 years ... the first year I used Microsoft Publisher and then learned to use Photoshop Elements about 18 months ago. What size do you scrapbook the most? Up until recently I only did 8 1/2" x 11" layouts ... but, when Katie began the Shutterfly book challenges I do lots of 12" x 12" pages now to send off to Shutterfly. What do you think your scrapping style is? I want to do the simple clean style ( sorta like Deena ), but just can't manage to make them look just right ... so I think that I have no particular style ... just whatever the moment brings! How has your style changed from when you first began scrapping? When I used Publisher and early with PSE ... I never used any purchased papers or elements. But, then I found Designer Digitals and have been in love with the products here ever since. I still love the simple look, but love to use buttons, swirls, and great papers now! Three all-time favorite designers? Oh my goodness ... this is a hard one! I must say that I probably have more of Katie's products than any other ... and I love Pattie and Anna too! Gosh, this is hard ... I have so many of Mindy's, Lynn's, and ... well everyone here! I have very few items from anyone other than the DD girls it seems. Three all time fave Designer Digitals products. Katie's Naturally Krafty papers ... http://www.designerdigitals.com/digi...oducts_id/2847 Anna's Hipster Plumes # 05 ... all of them really ... http://www.designerdigitals.com/digi...oducts_id/1935 and, Pattie's Text Bytes ... all of them too ... http://www.designerdigitals.com/digi...oducts_id/2537 not having Photoshop ... I use these all the time for text paths. and ... I hate to break the rules ... but, I must add Katie's Chunky Chipboard Alphas . . . http://www.designerdigitals.com/digi...roducts_id/279 What camera do you use? A Canon Digital Rebel - not the top ones ... I have the lowest end one ... three years old. Still love it and I can use the lens from my old film Rebel! What software do you use to scrap? Oops, ... I answered this earlier ... but, I use Photoshop Elements 5.0. And really do love it ... I would love to have the big PS version, but for now elements is all I need. What is your favorite color? Probably red is my fav in our home ... but, for scrapping I use lots of neutrals. Do you listen to music when you scrap? Sometimes I have the radio on to Big Band Swing music ... love it and the music from the 40's and 50's BeBop too! Lots of time, I just like things silent. What is your favorite snacks wile scrapping? Most of the time nothing ... but, I do sneek in an occasional cookie to feed my addiction to them. I did find out that cookies sometimes bring on the ants ... and, those same ants can crawl into my monitor!!! Not a good combination for sure! Who are your 3 digital scrapping buddies? Well, I only know one actual flesh and blood person that I scrap with and that is my cousin Janie from Minnesota ... we have a fast and furious email connection and sail out layouts across the country pretty often ... I only wish that I could scrap as nicely as she does! The 2nd and 3rd would have to be a blend many of the DD girls ... I consider so many of you as my friends and draw on your talents daily! I so admire the work of Cassie and Merrilee and Jill and Stacy and Deena and . . . !!! I find myself actually wondering what some of you are doing as I go about my daily tasks and life. (I do the same thing about book characters when I am involved in a good read too!!!! I know that is wierd ... but, I have done that since I began with the Dick and Jane books in first grade! Guess I have a vivid imagination.) Where would you dream vacation be? I am about to take one dream vacation in about two weeks ... my husband and I (along with many others from our church) are flying to Rome and then will be cruising and will visit other parts of Italy, Greece and Turkey for a two week dream trip! (Just to let you know ... I will be having scrapping withdrawal after about two days though! What do you want to do right now? Just as soon as I jump up from my computer ... I will run in the living room and give our two little grandchildren a big hug and kiss! Now, I know that this is the end of Yen's questions, but I must add a bit! I have been married since 1966 to the same wonderful guy. "We" were in the Army for many years and now live near where we grew up here in the Southern United States. We met in college and married after only knowing each other 6 months and have never looked back. We have been blessed with 4 wonderful children ... 3 boys and 1 girl and now have 5 grandsons and 2 granddaughters. This family that I am so blessed with is the inspiration for my pages!! Thanks for letting me introduce myself ... both my scrapping life and my personal life too! __________________ Mollie

Very awesome page--your journaling is wonderful, and the way you showcased your mom in the group shot. Great detail!! Loved learning about you! Isn't being a grandma the best??! Your dream vacation sounds fabulous! Can't wait to see the pages you will scrap from that.

Hi, Mollie,
Just discovered this. That layout has really stuck with me (and the oo-de-lally ones). I've gone back to check it many times and think about what so compels me about it, and I think it's the stunning design coupled with the great journaling and photos. It makes your mom real. Loved reading your comments. I haven't been around here long, but you are a big presence here for me, and I always check out your work. |
