I have a stupid question. I noticed that one of those layouts looked really familiar and then I remembered why. I have the same paislee press template. Is that allowed in a published layout? it doesn't seem right to me. It said that the layout would be published in an upcoming CK issue. I'm kind of on the new side of digital so I don't know all the ins and outs on being published with a digital layout.

Hi, Cassie. Great name.

As long as the scrapbooker credits the template designer, it's perfectly acceptable for publication. There are many digital pages (and paper pages, for that matter) that use templates/sketches as their starting points, and generally the scrapper adds/removes things to make it their own. The important thing is that they give the proper credit.

On another note, welcome to the DD forums!

thanks. I was always hesitant to submit anything with a template or even sketch.
Thanks for the welcome. I've been here lots of times over the past year, just buying, but this is the first time visiting the forum.

Cassie, you are not living under a rock. This is a fairly new thing they have added and I think they should publicize it more. There are usually a few dd girls in there!

I think they usually leave it up for about two weeks, then send an email to the winner.

Congratulations girls! I'm new to the world of publication. Where did you submit your pages for them to be considered? Thanks!

They must pick from their gallery because I didn't submit. I just posted that page in the CK gallery.

For this layout, they choose from the gallery. If you want to submit, they have an ongoing page for calls. You can also submit any layout and put "general submission" in the subject line, or "fresh face" if you've never been published.
