    My first real toot!

Jeff Revell chose my photograph, Still Waters, as the winner of the DC evening group during Scott Kelby's Worldwide Photowalk! What an honor!

My husband, son, Caleb, and I went last Saturday to stroll through old town Alexandria, VA shooting pictures with 50 other photographers and their guests. It was perfect weather, and a wonderful opportunity to share our enthusiasm for photography. More pictures our group took are here:

funny wasn't the new lens I used for that picture. ha! The new lens is SO heavy, it has its own tripod mount. I did use it on the photo walk, though, with a monopod; it's hard to maneuver for events like this, though, where you have to change the position of the camera from landscape to portrait, or move it quickly to catch the moment, and since it's 70-200mm, I have to back away from the subject. It's a bit cumbersome at times. I did use it for the close ups on the parrots and the rest of the walk. The lens will be great for the ballet pictures in the future...we had to rent a lens last year.

Thanks for all the congratulations. I was so honored to be chosen.
