Thread: for each of you in the tornado pathways tonight

  1. for each of you in the tornado pathways tonight

Prayers for each of you in the tornado pathways traveling across the South tonight. I have so many cousins, children, grandchildren and friends stretching from Texas and Arkansas to Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee. I am sticking close to the Weather Channel as my husband and I are really to head to our safe closet . . . and, I am sticking with prayers for all in these frightening situations tonight.

We are seeing it on the news over here, it looks horrendous, whole towns wiped out. Mike read an interesting story about one town and it looked like a dome house was the only thing left standing, food for thought for re-building I guess. Prayers to anyone in this ferocious path.

I went to bed last night with the storm just passing over the B'ham area... thinking of you all in the path and again today with the unsettled skies... I grew up in KS and the storms are something I don't miss at all... humbling coming out of a basement not knowing what's left of one's neighborhood...

Thank you everyone! We always appreciate your concern in the spring when this type of weather pattern seems to plague us. Last night our son Jesse came over to stay the night. We tried to go to sleep at our usual time, but it was impossible with all the storm sirens going off and our phones and iPads constantly sending storm alerts! Jesse came in and told us his brother David texted him that a tornado was passing over him! David had gone with his girlfriend Ashlee to her grandmother's house for the evening. They were in the basement when trees fell on the house and water started pouring in the living room. Luckily no one was hurt. They couldn't get away because trees were down everywhere blocking the road. Her dad was able to come rescue them.

We are now bracing for more severe weather tonight but they are saying it shouldn't be as bad. Thanks again for your thoughts and prayers!

  17. Thanks for checking in with us Amy. It is impossible to ignore the weather reports when I know people living in the areas affected. I hope tonight is quieter and you all can get some rest after a harrowing night last night.

  20. Hope that your home was in order and that your kids were all fine when you got home yesterday, P! And, Amy . . . I'm happy to know that you are o.k. too and that your family is too. We were up until the storm left Alabama . . . very scary . . . so happy that it slowed down a bit while in B'ham. Now fun to live through is it? Just so thankful that so many escaped injury and housing problems . . . prayers with those who were injured and lost their homes. We were ready to head to the "safe place" in our home, but things slowed down so much that we only had loads of rain and winds here.
