not sure where to add this so I'll try here

On my page Gadwall:strut a few people wondered how I achieved my end product so I thought I'd answer here. Is there a better place?

From the bottom layer up, I began with my background papers and sizing, next Katie's painted photo mask and masking inspiration 081313 altered, next Heather T's cord, next my photo which was nearly monochromatic in original form. To my original photo I added a poster edge filter and then duplicated that layer and added color blend + mask to "erase" what I didn't want to show. Next layer was original poster edged photo duplicated again with color texture + mask with brushwork to "erase" a bit more. Lastly I added my embellishments.

    Thanks for the comments!
