Thread: An update on the photo contest--

  1. An update on the photo contest--

Just wanted to thank all of you who took the time to vote for my photo in the photo contest a few weeks ago- I got the results just a few hours before I left town for several weeks- so sorry for the delay! As it turns out the contest was canceled because of fraud and mis- handling- the online company that was running the contest awarded the first place to the photo that had the most VIEWS- not the most votes as stated in the description on both the contest site and on the sponsoring companies site. Since anyone could sit there and hit the refresh button as many times as they wanted to increase the views (and there were a couple of photos where that obviously happened--), the Africa company received numerous complaints and decided to void the contest-( the right thing for them to do) So---
I so appreciate all of your time, energy and support though- it meant the world!!!

  2. Ahhhh, too bad, Nancy! I was going to volunteer to carry your suitcase!

Darn it! In a fair and open competition I am sure your photo would have won. It looked clearly the standout to me. That is a very sad outcome.

How disappointing. Dishonest people really get under my skin. Sounds like you are a real trooper and handling this the right way! You're a winner in my book!
