    Macro Filter

Has anyone ever used a macro filter before?? I heard about them for the first time ever yesterday. I found a collection of them on amazon for a good deal (less than $15), which is way cheaper than a macro lens. Just wondered if it's worth the money!

My Camera - Canon 5D Mark II
    My Lenses - 24-70mm f/2.8, 50 mm f/1.4, 85mm f/1.8
My Software - Photoshop CC, Lightroom 5, ACDSee 17

  2. I used them many years ago on my first film camera. They worked just fine, only limited by the amount of magnification, but worthwhile playing with. Only downside was the fine thread (they screw on), you had to be careful not to cross thread them! Enjoy!

I have heard they are hard to focus with. But, for the price I think they are worth playing around with If you aren't trying to catch action shots and have time to play with the focus you should be fine.

Thanks ladies!! I did order the set today!! I also watched a video from Adorama TV that was interesting. But the Canon one is $150 and supposedly best on the 70-300 lens, which I don't have. It'll be interesting to play with them next week!
