Thread: New lens!

    New lens!

I was lucky enough to sale my old camera body and the two lenses that weren't compatible! Yesterday I bought the Canon 24-70 f/2.8 to replace them! After purchasing it, we ran to Lagoon (local amusement park) and I didn't want to lug around my big new camera, so I haven't played with it yet. I'm excited to play with my new toys!

Very exciting! I love my 2.8 lens (mine's a Tamron, though). I was recommended that zoom and aperture by the wonderful people here and have not been sorry!

I am very lucky! My DH is the greatest and spoils me! He knows how much I enjoy photography and recording our lives. I've been wanting to upgrade for a long time. I had to sell my old gear in order to afford this lens. I played with he new lens and camera for a few minutes when the girls woke up this morning....AMAZING!

You're too kind. I guess it's true when they say you are your own worst critic!

Congrats! I have a 24-70 too, but the Sigma version... I must admit, though, that I'm more of a prime girl, I just seem to zoom better with my feet than with a zoom lens. Maybe because I only had a 50 mm lens for ages before getting a zoom.

I have the 50 mm Sigma f/1.4, and it's such a great lens! Though it's taking me some getting used to the missing crop factor on the full frame body, and I'm realizing that I have to go to the 100mm to get the portrait shots I used to get with the 50 mm on my 40D body.

Woohoo Kim, that's AMAZING news! I'm loving the 5d mark 2 it's just fabulous. I have my 85mm f1.8 on it all the time and I love it. I'm with Heidi - I love prime lenses, probably for the same reason too. Do let us know how you get on with your new gadgets. I can't wait to see your pictures xx
