My random inspiration for the freebie tonight came from the snow I woke up to this morning! It quickly melted so there was no sledding or photo ops except a couple of quick iphone pics as I walked Dixie. And now as the sun is setting it's snowing again! With plans for tomorrow I sure hope it doesn't stick!

And as you might have seen in the store

    I've been chalk inspired!
I'm seeing it in a lot of the magazines lately and wanted to try my hand at it!

    This image came from Oprah...

These fun brushes allow you to "stamp" with a chalkboard look

Let's push that a little further and give some gradient color to our stamp to look like this

First you'll need to install the gradient file:
    KPertiet_WinterGradient.grd
this file is included in the download zip

    To install the gradient
Click on the gradient tool [right below the eraser]
Then Click on the top left of the navigator bar and scroll down to load gradient
Then locate the .grd file on your computer

Then, drag in the Snow Day .png
Turn the visibility for that layer off
    Create a new layer
Make "snow day" an active selection by command+clicking on it

Make sure you are in the new, empty layer and select the gradient tool
click and drag across the words to fill with the gradient
Experiment with different angles etc until you get the effect you like!

    Simple as that!

Take it further and experiment with blend modes now!
