Thanks and yes, I'll go back and add supplies, but likely not until tomorrow. I haven't been feeling well tonight and need to call it a night after the chat!

I have been playing with blending modes in Jana's class too, but no idea.... Hard light?

  3. Notes in the forum? Where? On all of today's chats maybe? I've missed all except one and it would be wonderful to have notes.

Did you know you can cycle through the blend modes by simply clicking Shift '+' or Shift '-' ?

I used vivid light blend mode for all the photos and then added a touch of white by taking the text blendable off to the sides, enlarging it and set it to Linear Dodge mode

My #1 is Overlay, and now #Hard light is 2nd thanks to Jana. I have used others though for 'unusual' effects as you did Katie in this layout.

I love testing the different blend modes to see the results. My go-tos are soft light and multiply. It's the blending that I find tricky! Hoping to learn some new tricks tonight

Thanks for the well wishes... thought I was all on the mend but a bit of a set back... oh well... 3 steps forward and one step back... still ahead of the game

I 2nd that. I am a newbie and still don't know how to "Play" with my supplies more than just stacking layers.

One of the things I've found with blending is not to be afraid. In your layout you are working with a copy of your photo, right? You can go back to your original file... so... why not experiment!

Sometimes I use Color Burn and then go in and adjust the levels and saturation on my photo for better results

Or try to then duplicate the photo layer and set to soft light mode

The Martha Brae is a river in Jamaica, there were merchants set up along the way because, unfortunately, it's been quite commercialized over the years.
