No worries if you want to add other stuff - and don't forget you can recolor anything as well. (Oh the joys of digital!)

Things that might inspire you about this page are obviously the way the strips of patterned paper are used, and the stitching. But also the use of a neutral background, and the great subtle brushwork around the photo.

so true - I think I will go with Camp's costume. He was Sully from Monsters Inc. Colors are turquoise and purple - I can make this work. I love the items in the freebie!

The taped photo masks Lisa used can be used behind a framed photo as you can see here, as well as for a photo mask. Or katie has lots of watercolor washes as well, which look great behind photos :-)

  22. #112
So there are lots and lots of way to "dress up" a template as you can see here :-)

  23. #113
of course, you might simply be inspired to scrap your halloween photos!

Just got into our motel with wireless, and love the inspiration. Great one Lisa! Thank you Lynn for the goodies and thank you Katie for the great template hint! I'm not sure I can get this one done by the time but...we'll see!

I will enjoy the pages you ladies make. In the meantime i looked at your blog Lynn. Wow!!!! I guess i will have to go fill my cart again. You do beautiful designing.

  29. #119
And don't forget, if you have the template you can make it your own not just by "dressing it Up' with lots of extra details as Lisa did - you can also re-use it by flipping it and having the strips go horizontally, or by moving them to another part of the page.

They make a great "base" for jumping off and scrapping a layout that can become entirely your own.

You might also be inspired to lift Lisa's use of a neutral colored background (grey or maybe a pale brown) enlivened by very colourful patterned paper.
