How about a favorite place to curl up? That beat up old armchair or comfy couch? Have you ever scrapped your favorite "nesting place"?

People ... definitely people! When I feel the need to be comforted I STILL pick up the phone and call my Mom. And she never lets me down.

Let's talk clothing! Right now I'm sitting at my computer in my favorite baggy old Sports Knit pants from Lands End and a very threadbare faded sweatshirt. When you come home at the end of a long day what item of clothing do you reach for?

Look around your home. What items are contained in it that SAY "home" to you?

Comfort clothing: sweat pants, oversized tee shirt, and if it's cold then I add the large fleece jacket that I borrowed from DH years ago and never returned. Wearing those very clothes even as I type.

Some ideas from looking around my own surroundings:

The special bookshelf that holds only my FAVORITE reads
The quilt on the back of the couch my sister in law made me
MY mug .... the Rowe Pottery one that NOBODY else better use!
My husband, reading in his chair
    The fireplace
Framed photos of my family .....

Comfort home items: an old, beat-to-blazes rocking chair. Doesn't match anything else in the house, but if this place ever caught on fire, it would be the only piece of furniture I'd attempt to rescue.

If I could live every day of my life in sweats, I'd be a happy girl. Jammies are great, too!

Around the house? My wall of family photos in the foyer, my bookcase full of DVDs, my comfy bed and pillow.

Do you have a certain place you like to sit? Does it make you crazy when somebody else is there first? I'm sort of like Sheldon in The Big Bang Theory ... do NOT sit in MY corner of the couch!

As for food - I'm all for macaroni and cheese and hot bread w/butter! Some hot chocolate to go along with either would be fine too! LOL!

Sometimes our comforts are firmly tied together with our quirks! I need to sit on THAT end of the couch so I can pull my feet up to the left of me. If I have to sit on the other corner because SOMEBODY was rude enough to take my spot ... and pull my feet to the right ... I'm all discombobulated!
