    Guess who I met!

I had the opportunity to meet up with Linda (EarlofOxford) at the Disney resort where we were vacationing last week. She is one of very few, rare native Orlandoans! She was gracious enough to drive across town to meet me in a crowded, noisy cafeteria. We talked for a couple of hours and I could easily have stayed there all day! She was so easy to talk to, so upbeat and just the kind of person you would want for a friend. It was kind of sad to have to hug her good-bye!

I apologize for the horrible picture. A Disney cast member took our picture with my camera and I had it on auto, but the light was not cooperating. Hopefully the pictures from Linda's camera are much better! I promise I really am that lumpy, but her hair is not blue!

It sounds like a very special time! I never noticed anything that you noticed in the photo. I see two beautiful women having had a lovely time together. It's so nice to see the DD community get together and meet.

I apologize for not posting a shot of the two of us -- mine looks just like Sarah's! I thoroughly enjoyed meeting Sarah; she is an absolute delight, and we talked like we'd known each other forever. I love that about DD -- we know so much about each other from the pages we share that we have an instant connection when we meet IRL. And now that Sarah's in NC, I have another reason to visit God's country!

I have such control issues about my camera and really hate turning it over to anyone else to take a picture. I set up the shot for the cast member and had to motion her to come closer. She still didn't get close enough -- argh! Crop, crop, crop!

Having met Linda several times, I can certainly vouch for how wonderful she is. And I know you are too Sarah. I love when we can meet up. It's so wonderful to connect online and translate our feelings to "real life".

And Linda, I have the same issues with my camera. It makes me crazy to turn my camera over to anyone, even when I try to anticipate the zoom, exposure, etc. Argh! I know I'm doomed when they don't look through the viewfinder, but hold my SLR like a point and shoot! Horrors!

You ladies are all so much fun! The cast member was so sweet but had no idea what to with the cameras. I think we have a whole generation that only takes photos with iPhones and the art of the viewfinder is lost.

We had a great trip but meeting Linda was the highlight. We talked a little digital. She helped me with hints on how to get out of my creative rut and she suggested messing around with blending since that's popular. I'm still apprehensive. As we were getting up to go, I mentioned how am I going to do a 2-page layout about our breakfast with only one photo? She said, blend and repeat it! Use it a bunch of times. I laughed because it was so nice to have someone I could talk to about that kind of thing and not get eyes rolled at me, like my hubby does.

She may just take a place of honor opposite Darth Vader and Jake having a light-saber duel.
