Default Dynamic Brushes

I've been looking at Katie's "Drawn Stitches No1" and, in the product description, it says that "the stitches rotate with movement" — I'd love that capability, but I am wondering whether this feature will work in the version of Elements I'm currently using (that'd be 4.0/4.1 for the Mac).

Oh, my gosh, you have just taught me such a neat feature of these brushes, Cindy!

I have PSE 4.0 on my Mac. I have these brushes and I just tried following an oval shape with them and it works so slick!!!!

Thanks for the tip! I feel silly, but, I didn't realize what "dynamic" meant!

I'm so pleased to hear that they work in 4.0! Seems like it'd make adding stitching to a more intricate kind of shape a whole lot easier than it is with regular brushes, where you've got to stamp a bit, maybe erase a bit, then manually adjust the angle of the brush and repeat the process as many times as it takes to work around the entire shape. Well, looks like I've got one more thing on my DD wish list!

Cindy ... thanks so much for beginning this thread! I have these brushes and I've used them too ... but, had NO CLUE that they would rotate with each movement of the mouse. Great knowledge to have about these brushes ... thanks so much!!!!!

They ARE cool, huh?

There are others in the store that do the same thing. Love 'em!

I've just come across this tip (for those of you who, like me, tend to draw wobbly lines when working freehand with a mouse or stylus): if you click and hold on a starting point with a digital brush selected, then hit and hold your shift key while you click a second point, the brush will fill in a straight line between the two points; if you keep on holding the shift key down while continuing to click on additional points, you can add as many more straight point-to-point segments as you'd like, and the brush will change its orientation with directional changes just as it would've if you'd drawn the same thing freehand. (I hope that makes sense? )

Makes sense to me! I can't wait to try it, but first I have to pick up one of those brush sets!

Thanks for the great tips!
