Hi Ladies!
I am so thankful for this website & the friendly ladies! I have a friend who bought PSE 6.0 and is having trouble clipping. The usual control+G is not working. I also know (in PSE 5.0) one can go to the layers pallette, put the cursor between the template layer & the photo to be clipped, hit alt+ left click to get the photo to clip, but this is not working in PSE 6.0 either. Any info you have would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance! Joey babyroo7 |

Thanks for all of the replies so far! It sounds like PSE 6.0 has a few issues that the rest of us don't have. I googled "scrapbooking in PSE 6.0" and came across some other problems that scrappers are running into - like dragging a png file onto paper. Apparently the grey box goes up to the paper too. PSE 6.0 users have to make the png file active on the workspace and drag the png file down to the photo bin & into the desired paper. Weird.
I am going to check with my friend and see what the keystroke text says (thanks, Cassie!) and also have her try alt+ctrl+g (thanks Katrina!). Hopefully we can get some answers for my friend and for Terry too! Thanks again! Joey Last edited by babyroo7; 02-11-2008 at 11:17 PM.. Reason: typo |

I just opened up PSE6 and Ctrl-G works for me....I think there is something more happening with your friend...perhaps you could have her describe the process she is following in detail and we might be able to help her further?

You guys are great! I am glad to know that control+g works in PSE 6.0. I hope to work/talk with her soon & see her process. I might have her reset her PSE 6.0 too.
Thanks a ton for all the comments! Your support is priceless! I'll keep you posted! Thanks! Joey |

Have her make sure she has the right layer selected.
Her Layers Palette should look something like: photo clipping mask background She'll need to select the photo layer and then press Ctrl + G (Mac: Cmd G). If the photo layer isn't selected, it won't work. Also, make sure she is holding the Ctrl key at the same time as the G key - she might accidentally be hitting Ctrl (letting go) then G (letting go.) Hope this helps. |
