I am guessing this question has been asked many times but can't seem to find an answer for it.
I am working with a torn overlay with rounded corners. When I bring my overlay over the paper it is beautiful but I can't figure out for the life of me how to hide the 'squared' corners of my patterned paper under it. I have experimented to the point I can't think of anything else to do and obviously I am new with digi. I have looked at the gallery and have seen many of these overlays used and the foundation paper and overlay corners and edges look like one item. I use PSE6 Windows Vista. Thank you for your help. |

I have tried grouping them and after grouping it just looks like an overlay over a piece of paper the corners of the paper are still there.
What do you mean you need to know what we are dealing with? Do you mean who's overlay and paper? If so here is what I have. the paper is Shabby Mis Jen Designs - Harvest Road - harvest party the overlay is Danielle of Something Blue Studios - Worn Photo Overlays It just dawned on me (brain fart) while writing this the one thing that I did not try was using the magic wand tool on the edges of the paper layer before grouping. What cha think? I have tons of Anna's and Katies overlays but they all have square edges so I never had this problem. I have taken 2 of Jessica's classes and have a few of your Tutorials but haven't seen this addressed yet. Thank you Cassie for such a prompt reply. |

I am not familiar with those products, but I think you are on the right path with the magic wand, Click the overlay layer on the outside of it, then select the paper layer and delete. I am not very good at explaining directions, but I hope that helps a little.

I thought that the tools worked similar on any product. I have never had any other forum Q&A tell me that they could only answer questions about their products. In the future I will be careful to only ask questions about DD products. I did get a suggestion to try. Thanks |

She knows how the DD designer products work from working with the designers and having access to the product to tell you how to work with it. It's hard to know for sure what to suggest to you because I also haven't seen those products to know exactly what they are like so also wouldn't want to give you incorrect information. |

![]() She just meant that she's not familiar (nor are many of us on the CT) with products from other stores. So, without knowing the product, there's no way she would know if you need to group the layers or use the magic wand, etc... She just doesn't have enough information to answer you properly, that's all!!!! Good luck!

Just for future reference:
I am well familiar with those overlays you mention here, and they are supposed to be used with the magic wand tool, that is why they have an outline that is unbroken, so you figured it out correctly! I use that method on all of those kinds of overlays.

I love this store and their designers but haven't been to happy with the interaction in the forum (from their team). I am new at this and am pretty much self taught and only through friendly digi scrappers am I able to enjoy learning and I thank you very much for your answer. |
