Default Brush help--thought I had it figured out. . .

Using the DD Brushes 101 I was able to turn a PNG file into a brush and it worked wonderfully! Loaded and can use it. Problem? When I went to create another I can't seem to choose the "define brush preset". It is grayed out and I am ready to beat my head against a wall to figure out why. I have started over with a "new" page, made it transparent, typed my text, chosen it with the marquee tool, but when I go to edit, define brush preset is still not an option. Sigh. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong??

Default

there is a maximum size for brushes.

maybe the area you've selected is larger than 8.25" square?
window > info
that will give you the measurements of your selection!

HTH!

LMK if you have more questions!
