Default revert to original?

Hi! If I am trying to revert back to the original picture (remove a frame I used or undo an action). Is there a short key to do that?

(i'm a mac user - cs4)

Thanks

There is probably an easier way, but I just click on the top "Open" in the History

Window/History

Command z is the shortcut on a mac for undo.

LOL Katrina. I didn't think anything of it because there are so many ways to do everything. I just posted my way.

If I have done multiple layers the command z just removes the last thing I did. I actually want to be able to revert back to my original picture. Does that clarify my question? Sorry for the confusion

You said "I just click on the top "Open" in the History" - Can you give me a bit more detail. I am at history. I clicked on the top square to the left, but nothing happened???

You should see a list of your actions on history. At the very top of the list do you see your photo? If you do click on it and you should go back to your original

If you move up to a previous state in the History, you lose any steps done after that one. Clicking on Open at the top of the History palette will revert to the original state of that document. You would have to start over. You could just click on the last History step you did before the one you want to change. Since you are using CS4 you can use Smart filters. That allows you to apply filters to a layer and then have the flexibilty to change the settings anytime.

I recommend that if you are going to manipulate a photo layer on a layout, you work with a duplicate of the layer and turn off the visibility of the original.
