The thing you described about the "snapping back into place" has happened to me recently. I just save, close PS, and reopen. That solves it. You might check to see if there's an update available to the version you have. That might fix it

for what its worth, I am having the same issues. I am CS4 on Vista 64 windows. It started yesterday and I am really annoyed with the brush-bracket thing. Did you ever find a cure? It also stopped saving my workspace after I close

Bumping this up... my text box "snapping" began again so I emailed adobe. Their response was to:
1. close PS 2. hold down shift+cmd+opt while re-launching PS - don't release keys until... 3. window appears with yes or no 4. choose yes and release buttons 5. this process resets the ps preferences I'm not sure what all was eliminated when I did this but I do have the use of the text box once again. Hope this is helpful... Carol
