Default saving brush in brush pallette

i am using PS3. I saved a brush set in my brush presets and also on an external harddrive. I am trying to save a different brush set in my brush presets and it only takes me to the external drive. I want it to appear in the brush preset picker and it does not from the external hard drive. Can someone help me please? thanks in advance.

Have you tried going to Edit > Preset Manager > Load?
From the Load dialog box, you can select the location of your file from the drop-down menu labeled Look in:

Your Photoshop program files and your external hard drive will show up there. You'll be able to select whichever one you need.

Default saving brushes in photoshop

Sara, thanks for your explaination. When i go to the Look in, I can pull up the c drive and the i drive. in the c drive are program files or program data, both of which have adobe in them. from that point on i can not find where the bushes are located.
do you have the address of where these are? most of the Adobe options say i do not have permission to change.
example: c > Program files > adobe > where ever?
(the default goes to the idrive where i last saved the brushes as an extra precaution as well as initially in photoshop) I can not see them listed in my brushes picker when they are on the i drive and i would like them to be in the picker on the c drive with the rest of my photoshop brushes.

I appreciate your time. thanks.

oh, gotcha!

First make sure your folders are not "hidden." Here are Pattie's instructions for that:

Click on "Start" and choose "My Computer." (Vista users: choose "Computer.") When a window pops up, click on the Tool menu at the top and choose Folder Options.

When the Folder Options dialog box comes up, click on the View tab at the top.

In the"Advanced Settings" section there's a folder called Hidden files and folders. Make sure "Show hidden files and folders" is selected. Click okay.

And here's the brushes path on my system. I have CS3 on a PC. Let me know if you have a different system and I'll try to find it for you:

In the Preset Manager 'Look in" drop-down, navigate your way to:
C:\ Documents and Settings \My Name \Application Data \Adobe \Adobe Photoshop CS3 Presets \Brushes
