Nikon D100 - fire wirelessly w/out pop up firing?

I have managed to set 2 SB800 speedlights to fire wirelessly with my camera but I have to have the pop up flash enabled - is it possible to sync the speedlights without the pop up firing?

Here's a shot I took just practicing with my limited equipment, 2 speedlights shot thru umbrellas - the pop up kept giving me a definite shadow so I finally ended up taping a business card over it. I had ordered a Nikon transmitter hotshoe adapter to sync the lights but guess what, it's not compatible with the D100 model : ( just D200 and up...

Anyway, someone in the strobist group on flickr suggested checking to see if it has the setting to see if it will fire wirelessly without firing the pop up, they say the newer models will - I don't have my manual handy and thought you guys would know - thanks in advance for the feedback! You can critique my pic if you like, I know it's flat and I have some lighting issues (I'm new to flash photogrpahy and haven't a clue!) I was just glad to get rid of the shadow even if it was with a business card and tape
