Default 2.8 70-200 nikon lense VR

I have been working CRAZY hours and jobs and I thought I might spoil myself to a little something. Well a beeeeeeg little something actually.

I have perved and gawked and held and wished for this lense.

Has ANYONE got any experiences with it , or read anything good bad or ugly on it? I don't need to find a review as I have looked online, just wondering if anyone has any expericne with it and if it is worth the big $$$ price tag !

I may just be persuaded.

If I were Scott Kelby, I'd tell you it's a SWWEEEEEEEEEET lens.

If I were Scott Kelby, I could afford to have one of my own and then I could personally tell you it's a SWWEEEEEEEEET lens.

Oooooohhhhh!!!!

Just checked to see what the price is here in Israel....What the..#&$^# !!!!!!
I almost dropped. Way out of my price range and definately way out of my league -

but YOU SAM, most CERTAINLY deserve it!! :nodding my head in agreement:

Hope you can find the reviews you need to read. And let us know what you decide on.

Sam,
You will NOT be disappointed! It definitely lives up to its hype for SURE!
I absolutely LOVE it. It's fabulous as an outdoor lens, but I've also used it in studio.
Sweet, sweet, sweet!! It's a beast though!

Hi, I have the Tamron version of this lens.
http://www.amazon.com/Tamron-70-200m.../dp/B0012GDOQS
It's about half the price, but supposed to be just about as good as Nikon. I am pleased with the bokeh and sharpness. Here I am taking a picture with it:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/calligr...ol/2845949980/
HA! This thing is HUMONGOUS!! And heavy!! We rented the Nikon lens last year to take ballet pictures, and it performed really well.
Those pictures were mostly taken with the 70-200 lens; some were with the Nikon 17-55mm, f2.8. I was sitting fairly far in the back and was still able to get sharp pictures, great quality, and stop the action.

I used my tamron lens for the latter part of the photo walk, and it is a little awkward to use that way; I really need to use the monopod with it to help steady it. It's also awkward changing from landscape to portrait with a monopod attached. LOL! I'm pleased with it so far...it will be great for capturing ballet. My other lenses are just not bright enough for ballet without a flash.

Sam, treat yourself, you deserve it Personally, I just treated myself to the 50mm 1.4 and the SB 600 flash. Still drooling over the 105mm macro and the 18-200 VR.
