Default Home Studio, how big is your space?

We are moving and I was considering using one of the spare bedrooms as a home studio - I read this was the way to go:

The rule of thumb is 12-18 feet long, with a width approximately half the length. They say to allow for up to 12 feet between the backround and the camera placement.

I'm pretty sure the bedroom I'm considering is 12 but not 18 ft - do any of you use a spare bedroom as your studio and get good results?

Any advice/suggestions is greatly appreciated!

Default

My studio space is 10x20 and I have plenty of room using my 50mm. When I use my 85mm or my 70-200mm I have to step back and sometimes into the next room.
