Ooops..I guess it's NAPP, not NAAP. Anyway, an upgrade is only around $85 if you have Lightroom 1. They have discounts on a lot of software and photography products, and you also get a great magazine with tips and tricks on all the Adobe products.

Hi Katrina...Here is a link to the PHotoshop User site about LR2...it tells the different features that are new to LR2.
NAPP has a whole site about Lightroom 2 here. There are a lot more adjustments you can make without needing to go into Photoshop in the new Lightroom. They have a new "Adjustment Brush" which allows you to change things like brightness, sharpening, etc. in a localized area, instead of the whole photograph. Scott Kelby & Matt Kloskowski love the adjustment brush. It also has the post-cropping vignetting, which is really nice...in LR1 the vignette only worked on the original sized photograph...if you crop one side off the photo and then try the vignette, it was only be applied to the corners that weren't cropped off. Now it works great on the cropped photo. There is much better integration between Lightroom and Photoshop, although with the new features in LR2, you really won't need to go to PS as much. The above site has all kinds of videos and links to more that explain the features of LR2 and, of course, Scott Kelby has a new book about it, and he's having a Lightroom 2 tour again soon. Matt's site also has more information about LR2: http://www.lightroomkillertips.com/ |

Yep! I use LR to adjust the white balance of my photos, color conversions and just about every other photo adjustment imaginable. Simply and quickly. Then I import into PSE (or PS or CS3) to scrap. From what I've read the import process is even better with LR2!
Definitely on my list! |
