Default Storage Issues

I am having some trouble deciding what to do with all my digital files. Until recently, I was importing all my images from my memory card to my computer through iPhoto, tagging them and then exporting them to LR or PSE for adjustments, scrapbooking, etc. I have a MacBook Pro laptop with only 120 GB Harddrive. Since I have purchased my camera the amount of pictures I take has increased exponentially! I am running out of room on my hard drive, and I'm not sure what to do to save space!

When I make scrapbook pages, I save them as a psd file and lg .jpg and web sized jpg, so I end up moving the larger psd files off to an EHD. At the end of the year I also move the large jpegs over to the EHD.

It makes me sad to think about moving any of my old pictures over, but I guess it's not that often that I'll need to pull up a picture of DD from 2003. Any suggestions?? What do you guys do for storage?? (I'm not sure DH will go for a newer computer at this point. :-) He already feels like my digital hobbies are sucking the life out of our budget!!)

We have two dedicated backup drives that connect to our computer (a PC) through USB cables. I store all my photos on one and back them up on the other. That leaves the PC iteslf free from huge files (although I have a lot of memory!)

Each drive was several hundred dollars - between 200-300$. Pricey but worth it; they have a ton of storage. And I insist upon redundancy to prevent photo loss!

I have a 500GB firewire EHD and a wireless 1T TimeCapsule that does automatic backups. I can also wirelessly connect to the 1T device and access any files stored there. I just wasn't sure if I would miss or regret not having all my files on one computer. Being a laptop, it's a little inconveninent to always be "tethered" to an EHD. That's why I got the TimeCapsule. I had thought about moving some of my pics over to the TC, like 2006 and earlier.
