I didn't call in because I don't have any days left this school year. Unfortunately, Avery has been sick all winter long so David and I both have used way too many in a short period of time. So, I forwarded my tracking numbers to myself at work and when it arrives I'm going to take a break to rush home and put it inside. Well, I might just pick it up and take it with me everywhere I go. I can't wait! It's out for delivery but unfortunatly the UPS truck usually doesn't get to my house until late afternoon - 5:30 or later. Plus, they have the road outside our neighborhood down to one lane with a guide car. So, it could be forever. :>( BUT, it will be today, so it's a good day!

I have it! Just unpacking the box and charging batteries - will post a photo later! It is soooo heavy duty and nice! The controls are different than the D70 - will have to learn all the new stuff. So exciting!

Here are some of my very fist SOOC shots - no editing. My first impression: it's so FAST! On the first picture the shutters were open, on the last 3 they were tilted down - the room looked pretty much just like that. I used my 85mm f1.8 lens at f1.8, ISO 200.

Oh Heidi....I am SO excited for you....and the photos are amazing! I really know exactly how you feel and had to laugh at your descriptions because those were the first thoughts I had about my new Canon 30D...that it feels so heavy duty in my hands and it's FAST. I feel like I'M learning all over again with mine too. We'll have to compare notes about our new babies, eh?
