Default D300 question

Does anyone use the battery pack/vertical grip?

I have always used them on my cameras. It holds 2 batteries which is really cool.

I find it balances the camera when I hold it. Otherwise it can be top heavy. I dont really use the shutter release on it to focus and capture the shot.

I did it! I clicked the order button! Abe's of Maine was $110 cheaper and includes a 4gb card so I got the camera body from them and my acessories from Adorama (battery pack, extra battery, etc). What did I do with the savings on the camera body? Paid extra for faster shipping. Oh, and I ordered a red 5 million dollar home from B&H to be extra snazzy. I am soooo excited! DH wondered why I don't sell my D70, but it will make a good backup.

Thanks for the reviews!
