Default Good Combination for pics?

I'm hoping to actually get some decent Easter Pics of my DD tomorrow morning. The light is actually really decent, facing west in my living room. But my pics all turn out blurry because my DD moves at the speed of light! I want a softer focus, and was wondering was combination I should start out at? Thanks for any help ahead of time!

I am still learning to not get mostly blurry photos of our cats because they also move at the speed of light... so not sure on what to suggest for settings wise but personally, I would worry about capturing a nice sharp photo so fast shutter speed and then use photoshop to soften it. It is a lot easier to soften something up in photoshop than it is to sharpen a blurry photo.
