Default Nikon D3100

I have wanted to upgrade my camera for quite some time, DH just upgraded his tractor and said that the next 2 - 4 big purchases are of my choosing. Before he forgets I want to get them recorded with a budget. I would like to go with the Nikon D3100 since I think that will give me a little more flexibility and this will be my first DSLR.

Does anyone have this camera?

Any pro's or cons?

Can you use this camera to create HDR images?

Looks like a nice camera for the price. The frame rate is only 3 FPS (frames per second) which is a little slow if shooting sports. And yes, you can do HDR with this camera.

Thanks Randy, I knew you were a Nikon shooter. I don't take many sports shots, and by the time my son is in high school, I may want to upgrade or add another camera. I looks like a great camera to start taking my photography to the next level.

I have this camera and I really like it. Lots of bells and whistles but easy to use. It has "the guide" on the camera that helps you figure out different shooting situations. It's a good camera for just picking up and shooting.. Or going to manual and really taking the nice shots. I haven't had a problem with the 3fps and I do a fair amount of rodeo shots. Seems fine for me. Good luck!

I have it and I love it. I used it capture mounted shooting and I excellent results (burn of the black powder, dirt clods flying through the air, bits of ballons in the air). I think it is easy to use too.
