Default Hipstamatic vs Instagram

Which one are you using and why? Or both?

I hope Kerry jumps in because she is the master of iPhoneography!!!

Kerry and I took a course from Stephanie Roberts, author of The ARt of iPhoneography. She was great and most of the material is in her new book.

I say both formats and either except that Instagram makes it SO easy to take, send and then post to Postereous or Flickr. You can take any image from your camera roll, make adjustments in other apps and then send it through Instagram.

I it just fun to play with the charming things they produce.

Hey P, I know you mentioned that course. Was it online?

I love instagram for the reasons you mentioned. But I'm intrigued by the creative control of Hipstagram. Sounds like I need both!

Myra, the prices are dirt cheap for what they do. I think I have about 5 or so photo apps in a specific Photography folder on my phone. (actually...just looked, I have 9)

Night Camera - good on occasions, like ....at night!

Hipstamatic - I don't care for the 'slowness' of this one - turn the phone, click, wait... Yes, I'm speed spoiled

Best Camera - never did work with this one to see what it does

Camera Bag - one of my favorites since it has so many options. I especially like Lolo and Instant. It was my first phone purchase

Yes We Can - an election purchase but still fun to use on some occasions when the word Hope is appropriate

Photo Card - turn your photo into a postcard to send - too much work for me. I'd rather just send a photo

Free Zoom - Of course I forget about this one when I want a zoom...works well on detail

Instagram - very much like Camera Bag and easier to upload photos to Twitter etc

Incredibooth - I have some wonderfully dorky shots of us with this one. Too bad Dick's hands are less steady than mine since he has nice long arms!

No Lori, but if you Google retro photo apps for droid, I think you'll come up with some alternatives.

Myra, it was an actual course with real people in Atlanta!! But her book is available on Amazon and has great info.... including a myriad of apps and her recommendations.

I sort of feel guilty about my big girl being neglected.

Oh my gosh there is so much I don't know! I just started using instagram but I haven't spent time playing with it much. To be honest I'm a little confused because I just did it so I could post a pic of some kids so their moms could too so I did it all in a hurry. I'm astounded that there's a whole course - with real people too!! I guess I should spend more time on it (although free time is sorely lacking in the summer for me!)
