Default Canon d10?

Does anybody have this camera? I am really looking into having a waterproof camera for the pool and water park. I feel like I am missing so much of our summer because I leave my camera home for obvious reasons.

The reviews seem okay but there are several on there that make me nervous.

WOuld love to know if anybody actually has one

Jen - I'm looking forward to your review - I've looked at it because I would like to replace my olympus (since it uses XD cards)... although I'm not sure if i like the bigger size. I really wish Nikon would make a good waterproof camera, or at least a really good sleek waterproof case for one of the smaller ones - I love to keep my P&S camera in my purse for whatever comes up.

I've been looking to replace our waterproof Olympus for some time. Something's wonky with the auto focus and the xD-cards are a big minus!
I broke down a couple of days ago and ordered a waterproof Panasonic Lumix instead...
I LOVE my Lumix DMC-TZ10, so I figured I'd give Panasonic a try.

I considered that one...but thought I would stick with what I know. I am actually kind of glad that it is a little bulky and sturdy. I have three kids that like to use it and I don't want to worry. I usually lug my SLR everywhere so to me it is going to seem tiny

I just thought I would let you all know what I thought about the Canon D10 now that summer is drawing to a close.

It takes FANTASTIC pictures underwater. We have had a blast this summer. The video is fun too I am so pleased that I have these photos to remember our summer unlike last year when I kept my camera home for the most part.

It overall takes great photos. If you have good lighting they are wonderful, bad lighting I pull out my DSLR because I hate flash

As far as the size... it is perfect to me. It seems tiny compared to my DSLR. I wore it around my wrist all day at the water park and it never bothered me. I got stopped every where I went though. People were amazed that I would cart my camera around like that

If you are around water a lot... I say go for it. I am so glad I bought it this summer

Jen, I completely missed this original thread, but this is great to know. I've never even considered a waterproof camera before. We're in the water all summer and I've taken my dSLR to the beach and ruined two lenses with the sand and water. I don't need great quality at the beach---I don't do photo shoots there or anything---but I definitely love to take pictures. And Bailey has really taken off with her swimming this year, so it might be something I need to put in the queue for next summer.

Thanks for the review!
