Default Got some time to waste?!...

I finally listened to my first podcast at Scott Bourne's blog (photofocus.com). I've subscribed to his blog for a long time but never listened to a podcast.
This one (Podcast Episode #74) included lots of great tips (I imagine they probably all do) and a guest photographer from Australia, Jerry Ghianis. So I followed the link to Jerry's blog and then to his education site (www .theicesociety.com). Oh my, what a way to lose an afternoon. 100% inspiring photography! I just love the way he can photograph in people's ordinary homes and produce amazing shots. Some had brides in a laundry, others standing next to garden sheds or in terrible wind. Every shot breathtaking. He also has a free episode (chapter 37) that I only got part way through. Fascinating stuff!
So if you've got an hour or two to waste have a look!

I subscribe to that podcast too Esther, I have a number on my ipod but they're usually for times when I haven't got anything else to listen to. Off to check out the website.

ALL RIGHTY!! I am feeling SO much better about the elder bod I'm living in.... and how she appears in full truth in the photos.....

but seriously considering the Photoshop alteration methods for adjusting arms, bums, rib shadows (HAHAHAHAH), etc.

These are detailed in the free class on I.C.E. Society ..... what I DIDN'T know....
https://www.theicesociety.com/?modul...46&category=29

oh don't forget the PS tan!!

The only sadness is seeing the models before they add flesh to their bones....

Magic of PS from a carving perspective!!

Seriously.......... good info about warp and other high end adjustments.

All I can say is WOW! (And, yes, instead of paying bills, I spent my lunch hour devouring those fabulous photo albums of Jerry's... )

Gosh iUma, I didn't even see that video! She needs a good feed, doesn't she?!!
In the Advice section his Chapter 37 trial (https://www.theicesociety.com/?modul...=46&category=3) he discusses how he shoots specifically for his photobook and then how he chooses and arranges the photos in the book. He also picks apart a book someone has sent him.
My favorite bits are the chapter previews on his home page where you see him setting up a shoot and then the actual photo.
Yes, he does have a "team" that process his images!
Wouldn't it be amazing to shadow him and his team for a day?!

O, I'll be going back for that part about the photobook. Thanks for this link. It is a treasure box of info. The warp tool tricks work on all sorts of things besides ribs and bums!!

Having dinner with our dear friend from Australia last month in Vegas he said somebody else had gone off for a "feed" and it immediately brought back all my memories of working for six years with Australians who always used that word. It is such an endearing Aussie expression.

Yes, the girls in those edited photos NEED a FEED!!

I loved the way Jerry Ghianis talked about getting wedding shots from the difficult subjects. He has a deep sense of what photography can be and it really shows in his images.
