Default I bought one!!

Hi there,

Thanks to all you ladies who said I should give up the p&s and upgrade to a DSLR - well I finally did it! Thank you!

I bought a Canon Rebel T3 - now I just need to know how to use it...:/

If any knows when Katrina's class "Get me off of auto" is starting, please let me know, because I will be using only auto until I know what all these buttons are for!

Happy Easter everyone!
Kristen

Fantastic, good for you. One of the best pieces of knowledge I guess I got when I first got my DSLR is that I might go backwards for a bit (and think what the heck did I buy this darn thing for) before I go forwards. Fear not, you'll love it.

Congrats! Even if you can't sign up for Katrina's class right away, I recommend her "Get Me Off Auto" ebook ... it got me off auto and I can't even remember when the last time I had my camera on auto. Have fun!

I second this! I felt this way after switching from a film SLR to a Digital SLR. I still have a ton to learn after several years, but it is now hands down my favorite over my backup P&S (and I have the old 300d). Just be patient with learning and enjoy learning how to use it.

While your waiting for the class try Brian Petersons book on understanding exposure, reading it was a big turning point for me.

Congrats! And ditto what Carol said... It was like one step forward and two back in the beginning, so be gentle with yourself and enjoy the process!
