Default Accidently took a video instead of a picture!

Okay... this wasn't me But, my dad took my son to Washington DC this past week and he got to tour the White House and Capital.

He met our Colorado Senator and the Senator stopped to take a picture with him. And, my wonderful father does not know how to use son's camera and took a 2 sec video instead of a photo!!!!! My son is CRUSHED because we bought a little scrapbook for him to put together and meeting the Senator was a big deal

Does anybody know of a way I could convert this? Or capture it somehow? I never use our point and shoot so the video isn't something I have really played with (we have a flip and a video camera).

Any help would be great!

There's different way to do it Jen.
Often the camera will have software on it/with it that allows you to view the video and "grab" pictures from it, I know mine does.

Another way would be to play the video on the computer (using mediaplayer or itunes or whatever) and then do a print screen.

The quality/resolution won't be that awesome, but should be good enough to go on a scrapbook page.

You can use IMovie to extract a photo from video.. don't know if you're on a Mac or PC.. I'm sure there is a way to do it on the PC also.. the resulting photo will depend greatly on the quality of the video.. The photographer at my daughter's wedding missed a number of photos and I was able to extract them from video.. they're not the highest quality but as long as you keep them small they're OK.

Yes, Windows Movie Maker (if you're on a PC) will do it very easily. I've done it frequently. Won't be as high-res but still useable.

Jen, I did some research and that capture functionality is gone if you have Windows Live Movie Maker on Windows 7. But I did find some software that will do it.
