Default Nighttime City Lights shot

My next goal is to capture some great nighttime shots of the city. Any suggestions?

Tripod and shutter release. Set the shutter speed at around 1 - 2 or more seconds. You can get some great shots of traffic lights with that slow of a shutter speed.

In addition to Randy's suggestions, try getting either low or high. The perspective adds so much to night shots. Play with different shutter speeds for really fun, varied results.
