Default Yikes! 10,000 clicks

I just realized that I must have cleared 10,000 clicks on my D90 (15 months old) - because all of a sudden the numbering of the photos was back to 01.

Or have I clicked on some button inadvertently ????

Does anyone know if it is normal for the camera to start a new counting after 9999 ? I don't think there is room for a longer number in the namefile, to put it that way.

It goes fast, doesn't it? I don't know about Nikon. And my camera is set to start over when I format the card.

Aino, for you I'm voting that you did 10,000 clicks, LOL.

LOL!! Thank you - I think I will try to cut the time in half for the next 10,000....

Anexela - that is annoying - I am sure you can change this in the camera? If not, you end up having series of photos with the same numbers?

hmmmm.....mine must be set up to start numbering all over too. I delete the photos off of my memory card, don't reformat, but the numbers start all over. I'm going to check the settings.

Well, I rename my photos to (ie) 10-07.05_xxx.dng (automatically) in the import process in Lightroom, so what they are called inside the camera doesn't really matter. I like to have the date included in the filename.

Wow, I feel really bad. I got my new camera in December and I rolled over in May. Maybe I should stop taking pictures for a few days. Lol. Crazy!!
