Default Numbered photos?

OK- I hope I can explain this so it makes sense.

I generally use the camera generated numbers as names for my pictures. After downloading to system and Lightroom, I usually delete them. The camera numbers reset to 1, 2, 3 etc. causing duplication in filing. My old point and shoot always kept count of pictures even when deleted.

How do I set this on my Nikon D80? Or is it even possible?

There should be a place in the Menu on the camera where you can change this setting. I don't have a D80, so I wouldn't know where.

Perhaps someone else can be more specific ?

Laura, in your menu go to the wrench icon. Once you are there you'll find File No. Sequence. Select On and you should be all set

(page 106 in your user's manual if you need to reference it!)

Only if you were to save them in the exact same folder and I believe your numbering goes to 9999. I'd have to google it to be sure though

I'm cracking up at you guys. Miss Google, I think you and Cassie are twins separated at birth.
