Yes you can, that's what I always do Shanah. I didn't even venture there yet, so I don't know the price (I must be avoiding it subconsciously)

I am going to buy it from the academic superstore. They must be really promoting it because it is on the home page when you go to their website. So many versions not sure what one you are looking for but it is easy to navigate =)

I always buy through Academic Superstore and I get only the PS Extended not the entire suite. I studied it all very carefully when I bought CS3 and realized I didn't need the other components. So....I can get PS CS5 Extended for $198.95. I believe what I remember about this student edition is that you cannot upgrade it. You have to buy a new version. But at this price I am ok with that. [Thinking maybe my daughter will want the CS3....nah, she doesn't even really want the PSE7 I gave her!] I don't know what the upgrade price is for the suite.
If you go the Academic Superstore route.... pay careful attention to the requirements which are specified on this page. http://www.academicsuperstore.com/pr...tended/1391247 ETA: Ok, got to town and high speed and checked the Adobe site. You CAN upgrade PS EXtended 3 or 4 to version 5 for $349. That's why I buy the new one at Academic Superstore. Cheaper. __________________

I've been buying through academic superstore, too, but I'm in a quandary: a part of me wants both Photoshop and Illustrator, although there's a good bet that I'll hardly ever use Illustrator, so I'm thinking about the suite. By the way, I'm a member of NAPP, too, so I can answer the questions about the advantages of belonging: there are discounts on MANY things, there are great forums, and three tutorials.
