Default How do I add a photo from Flickr

Hello,
How do I add the photo from Flickr and not just the link. I can't figure out how you get the photos to show up for the Flickr weekly favorites. Thank you!

There are a number of options, but they are all a bit fiddly! Flickr sometimes provides the code for displaying the image, but often it doesn't (depending on the user's settings), instructions below. I have a hacker method I use (also explained below).

How to hook up to the flickr page (Katrina's instructions)
  • Go back to flickr
  • Go back to the photo's main page
  • Copy the url in the address bar
  • Select the link icon (the world with a staple)
  • Paste the url into the box
The default text for the link is the URL. It is highlighted. Leave it highlighted because we're going to replace it with the image code:

How to display the image:

Go back to the photo at flickr. you have a couple of ways of obtaining the URL of the photo.

Option 1 - if the Choose All Sizes button is there (as posted by Katrina):
  • Choose All Sizes (in the line of options directly above the photo, with the magnifying glass next to it)
  • Select either medium or small
  • Copy the photo's URL in the bottom box
  • Go back the DD forum
  • Click the Insert Image icon (the landscape photo)
  • Paste the photo's URL

Option 2
- if no All Sizes button (my hacker suggestion):
  • view the source code of the flickr page (in the view menu, Ctrl+U in Firefox)
  • the 15th line down will look something like this:
    <link rel="image_src" href="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4042/...2cd50eff_m.jpg" />
  • copy the URL from that line (I've put it in bold above)
  • Go back the DD forum
  • Click the Insert Image icon (the landscape photo)
  • Paste the photo's URL (this will show the thumbnail version of the image, you can delete the _m suffix for a full size preview)
Done!

It worked! Thank you. I never would have figured that out on my own!
