Default In the shop

The D60 went to Campus Camera for a sensor cleaning. Not a big deal, it'll be back Saturday - only 4 days. I feel like a part of me is missing, though. How weird is that? I have two other cameras, both of which get a reasonable amount of use. The D60 seems more like a paint brush, more of me goes into the work I do with it.

Just musing over morning coffee.

You have a p&s to get you by? I'd certainly be lost without a camera. Were you getting dirty spots on your photos - or how did you know you needed sensor cleaning?

I desperately need to have mine cleaned, too. I've had spots and smudges on my photos for months now. I thought they were on the mirror, but I think some of them are actually on my 18-70 lens. I can only see those particular smudges when I load that lens. I'm not confident enough to do it myself, and we don't have a camera shop anymore. I know how it feels to be without---my husband took my camera out of town once for an overnight trip, and even though I wasn't planning on using it, knowing it wasn't there made me feel antsy and agitated.

Exactly how I feel, I hope I will never have to send mine in, although I did hang on to my old D40 just in case

I was shooting a gargoyle against a gloriously blue sky. Every one of the shots had fuzzy weirndess in the same spot. Tried to clean the sensor using the blower, but that didn't work, and I ended up getting dust all over the mirror.

Campus Camera in Kent does sensor cleaning in house for $30, worth it to me to get rid of those disappointing blob!

Dugarner - I brought my 70-300mm in, because I thought the fuzz might be in it. The owner said, unlikely, held the lens up to bright outdoor light (not directly into the sun!), checked it from both ends and said, nope.
